  1. Friends,

Nice to find your Rust Belt Reader! Well, my wife found the Reader and sent this to me. We spent 30 years in Pittsburgh and the North Hills living, working, furthering our educations and raising a family. We both worked in education, I retired as a principal from the Pittsburgh Public Schools.

Much of the writing brings me back to Pittsburgh. We were there when the steel mills closed and the resulting domino effect. Very sad. However, at the same time Pittsburgh, like so many cities in the Rust Belt, have many people of deep feeling and strength.

I look forward to reading more of the Reader. I expect that I will find poems in the Reader.

    Peace…..Ron Conant

    • Hi Ron – thanks for visiting! If you have any suggestions about what I should read, please do let me know. As with all library folk, my to-read pile is sky-high, but I am making an effort to read at least two Rust Belt books each month, so your recommendations are appreciated.
